STAT ALERT
-          DEN has won 10 straight games and has done so by at least a TD or more
-          KC RB Charles rushed for 226 yds vs IND in week 16
-          DEN has scored 30+ points in 6 of 7 home games this season
ANALYST INSIGHT
DEN is in top form while KC can’t wait for this miserable season to end – R. THE HANDLE

The Broncos will pound the Chiefs – M.D. SMITH

The Broncos are playing for a first-round bye and the Chiefs are playing for the first-overall pick – D. BILICKI
FINAL PREDICTION
DEN
SU
vs SPR
KC (+16.5)
A win here assures DEN a first-round playoff bye. That said, it won’t take much for the Broncos at home to defeat this beleaguered division rival Chiefs squad and it’s unlikely KC will put up much of a fight here with a first overall pick in the upcoming draft on the line. Bank on Chiefs QB Brady Quinn to attempt to exact some revenge for his release from DEN last season here and provide a cover for his club of an insane oddmakers spread of 2 TD + a FGM.

STAT ALERT
-          MIA coming off back-to-back home game wins
-          If HOU or DEN lose this weekend, NE holds the tiebreaker for first-round playoff bye
ANALYST INSIGHT
A crack at a bye is all the incentive NE needs to take out the Dolphins for the second time this month – M. FLORIO
FINAL PREDICTION
NE
SU
vs SPR
NE (-11.0)
Playoff bid sewn up or not, history dictates the Pats never let up on the gas pedal in their final games of the season. MIA is a division rival, a factor which often lends to large spread covers in these types of situations. That said, NE loves to hand out thumpings when on home turf and, with the potential for a first-round playoff bye tabled for this matchup, expect the electric passing offence of the Boston-area chowderheads to tear up the porous MIA secondary all game here.

But you can expect ultra-competitive Philip Rivers to get his teammates fired up for a worthy offensive effort – V. IYER
FINAL PREDICTION
SD
SU
vs SPR
OAK (+10.5)
Both of these clubs are soon to enter into rebuilding mode, the two of them likely to be positioned somewhere within 5-7 picks of one another for the coming 2013 NFL Draft. With home field advantage on their side and considerably better parts scattered throughout their lineup, expect the Chargers to emerge a TD victorious in this showdown with a backdoor cover by division rival OAKtown just for good measure.
